Brooks Men's Trance 8 Running Shoe Brooks Men's Trance 8 Running Shoe
Price : $139.99
Features :
  1. The Support category is the go-to silo for moderate overpronators, balancing the cush of MoGo and HydroFlow with the dependable stability of PDRB
  2. MoGo is a midsole compound that provides a soft cushy first feel that lasts - without sacrificing stability. MoGo offers a 40% increase in cushioning, 22% more energy return, and 33% less fatigue.
  3. BioMoGo is the environmentally friendly version of MoGo. Brooks added a non-toxic, natural additive to the MoGo compound that encourages anaerobic microbes to munch away once it hits the landfill, thus reducing it's lifespan in the landfill and overall waste by 50%.
  4. HydroFlow - Dynamic viscous fluid units for heel and forefoot enhance midsole cushioning - attenuating shock with industry-leading dampening and comfort.
  5. Progressive Diagonal Rollbar (PDRB) - Dual density post is biomechanically engineered to allow for progressive pronation control and creates a smoother transition from the midstance phase into the propulsion phase.

This updated running shoe offers support for those runners needing extra stability. The Trance 8 is packed with the same top-of-the-line technologies that made its predecessor (Trance 7) an award winner, plus it's environmentally friendly. Pay the extra and save your joints!

My husband is in the Army, and goes through new running shoes about every 4-5 months. He's tried all different brands and levels of shoe. This time, I strongly encouraged him to get the absolute best running shoe the New Balance store offered, along with the additional super-duper insoles. It was pricier than usual, but after all, you only have one body, so you might as well take care of it, right? Well, this morning, he called me right after taking a PT test (after taking the second half of the summer off of training) to enthusastically thank me for making him get the shoes, and excitedly exclaim that, not only did he shave a minute off his run time, but felt INCREDIBLE. His hips and knees didn't hurt like usual, and the term he used to desribe his new shoes was "phenomenal."

Awesome shoes!!!!

Awesome shoes. Very cushion and good stability. Very narrow in the hell and wide in the forefoot, but excelent quality shoes. This is my first Saucony of many more.

Comfortable shoe

I've had really good luck with the fit on Saucony's. Especially when new they give incredible cushoning, though they probably wear out a little fast in terms of cushioning (400 miles or so).

A great show still available

It seems every time I find a great shoe, a year later it is gone. This is probably the last pair of Hurricane 9s I'll ever be able to buy, I'm glad I was able to get this pair. Service was also great, they got here days before they were supposed to.
Thanks

NEARLY ENDED MY RUNNING CAREER

Let me preface this review by saying that I only take the time to submit reviews when I feel very strongly one way or the other about a product.

Started training for my first marathon and was advised by the local running store that the Hurricane was the shoe for me. The longer my training runs went, the more pain I was experiencing. As a tune up for the main marathon I ran a 1/2 marathon and I was in so much pain I was nearly crying. Went to a really well known running doctor (who also runs marathons and Ultra's) in Southern California and he advised that not only was the Hurricane NOT the shoe for me....but that very few people can successfully wear it pain-free. It feels like a brick on your foot, and at the time I would have SWORN that permanent damage was done to my feet, ankles and IT bands. Ended up running (and completing) the full marathon in Brooks' Glycerin 5 w/custom inserts, and now am training for my first triathlon where I will be using Saucony Triumph 5 w/custom inserts. The real story here: MAKE SURE YOUR RUNNING STORE KNOWS WHAT THEY ARE DOING.

Men's Motion Control shoe with a smooth ride for runners with low to flat arches; along with the control, stability and cushioning known and loved by excessive pronators.

Customer Review :

Excellent

I'm not a runner, but I am a walker. This is the 6th pair of Addictions I've purchased over the last 5 years or so. I have flat feet so I've added the Powerstep arch support insert and have no problems what-so-ever. I'm sure my next pair will be be Brooks also!

Questions & Answers
Question : How to i pick my running shoes and clothes?
How to i pick my running shoes so that that are best for me? I want them to be safe and comfortable. What should i look for? And how do i find good clothes to run in thatt are comfortable and good for running?

Answer:
http://www.runnersworld.com/article/0,7120,s6-240-319-326-7152-0,00.html check out this link. it shows you what kind of arch you have, which means it is easier to pick the perfect shoe for you! If you need arch support, I pretty much suggest shoes from asics. they are very comfortable! if you are looking for clothing, then I suggest these for shorts:http://www.anacondasports.com/ProductDisplay/10551/10201/173434/173409/139411.htm hope it helped!

Question : What are some good running shoes that are cheap? And any tips on track running?
I'm looking for running shoes that aren't over $30. And any running tips that will help with endurance and gaining speed would be great!

Answer:
There are many good racing flats available for under $30, but be careful. Unless you are a very efficient runner used to running in minimal shoes you could be setting yourself up for an injury with them. Best bet - check out a local running store and have them recommend a shoe based on your footstrike. Most running stores will have shoes on clearance that they offer at deep discounts.

Question : What are the best running shoes that promote forefoot running?
I heard forefoot running is the best and most efficient way to run. I saw these Newton shoes which were $175. Any other good runing shoes?

Answer:
Whoa, whoa, whoa. Forefoot running is how humans are made to run. Period. Your knee is a shock absorber. Your ankle is a shock absorber. We've been babied into thinking that it's ok to heal strike - it's not. Heal striking sends a shockwave through your entire body and is the cause of most running injuries. Secondly, $80 is the minimum MSRP (retail price though you may get them cheaper at outlets) for a good running shoe. Anything under $80 full retail is crap. Running Times did a search a year or two ago of stores like Kohls and Target for a decent off-brand running shoe and found 1 that was just ok. Brooks makes some models, like the Glycerin, that have relatively small amounts of heal lift. Low heal lift makes forefoot running easier.

Question : I want to open a running shoe store. Are there distributors who sell shoes only to retail stores?
I want to open a running shoe store. I will start as an oline retailer with the hope to open a neighborhood store soon. I am looking to buy shoes from 1 company who already has relationships with all of the running shoe stores. What companies do this. I've been searching on-line and cant find anything.

Answer:
contact a store in Jackson, Michigan called Step One. They have been in the exact business you are asking about. I don't have the phone number, but they probably have a web site. They are experts and have been in business for over 25 years.

Question : What type of running shoes would you recommend for a heavy person?
I pronate, and the guy at the runner store said that I need stability running shoes. I am also 6'4 220 with a low arch and big feet. What say you? Do i need stability or motion control. My current shoes are Nike Shox and they make my feet hurt very quickly.

Answer:
Try the Brooks Ghost or the Asics Gel Kayano. Both offer lots of cushion and support and are good if you over-pronate Ghost: http://www.finishline.com/store/catalog/product.jsp?productId=prod626580&Ntt=ghost&Ntk=all&isSearch=true&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial&Ns=P_SalePrice%7C1&N=0 Kayano: http://www.finishline.com/store/catalog/product.jsp?productId=prod619124&Ntt=kayano&Ntk=all&isSearch=true&Ntx=mode%2Bmatchallpartial&Ns=P_SalePrice%7C1&N=0

Question : Are good running shoes supposed to make your feet feel like they are sticking to the ground?
I bought a pair of saucony running shoes today and when I tried them out on pavement it felt like every time i lifted my feet it took some effort to un-stick them from the ground. I found this kind of annoying so I took them off and debating returning them. Is this what all good running shoes should feel like?

Answer:
How odd, Saucony are generally known to be some of the best shoes for running, although I never wore any, having instead had experience with Asics and Nike. If a running shoe is good you should, generally speaking, not notice it, that is it shouldn't be too heavy and it should ergonomically aid your running in a way that does not harm your joints, tendons and ligaments, and it sounds like this is not what this shoe is doing for you. If you feel the shoe is defective absolutely do take it back. But if you're not sure you may want to try to search for other user's experiences with that shoe, maybe the sole needs to be worn a little, but it does sound weird. It might also help to know what Saucony model you have purchased.

Question : Will running in actual running shoes help me go faster and make running easier compared to basketball shoes?
Does running shoes compared to basketball shoes make running easier and make me go faster?

Answer:
they probably feel more comfortable when you are getting up and down the court, but basketball shoes are more supportive, have better grip (running shoes slide around way too much), more protection ( you don't want to risk a serious injury) and offer better side to side and lateral movement while running shoes offer better forward motion. If your basketball shoes are bothering you, you should buy more comfortable basketball shoes that are lightweight and flexible. If you don't like mids or highs that grip your ankle , you should buy lows because they offer better traction and support that ordinary running shoes don't have. Plus they are lighter than mids or high basketball shoes. Hope this helps!

Question : What are good types of running shoes and what are the lightest type of running shoes?
I need to get some size 8 and half or 9 pair of running shoes i want to get some light ones but im not sure what ones to get.

Answer:
Pumas are reallllllllly light. it almost feels like you arent wearing shoes at all

Question : How long should I wear new running shoes before they're broken in enough to run a 5k?
I am running my first 5k in a few weeks and have been training in old running shoes. I want some new ones before the race, but am wondering how long I have to wear them before they're broken in enough. I know it probably depends on the shoe, but am wondering if there is a general rule of thumb.

Answer:
I remember the old days when running shoes needed 10 or 20 miles to loosen up. But nowadays, if the shoe fits, I never get blisters anymore. Also a 5k is pretty short, you'd have a hard time getting blisters anyway unless the shoes were a bad fit. So maybe one or two short runs should be enough.

Question : Can normal running shoes be used for cross country running?
I have a pair of women's nike running shoes and am going to join my school's cross country team in the fall. But I'm not sure if I have to get a pare of spikes for cross country of if I can just use my nike running shoes. Help please?

Answer:
If your Nike's are really light weight then they should be good...i would recommend against spikes...even though they are lightweight and flexable, crosscounty courses are sometimes set on concrete. annnd spikes on concrete is a no no.
