review of Addiction 7 shoe

Size of shoe not accurate with other shoes. I think it would be a good shoe if only they had my size.

Best Running Shoes

Brooks is the best running shoe. The addiction is a shoe with a lot of extra support. Have kept buying this shoe over and over for the last 10 years.

Continues to meet Expectations

If You need a higher end Stability sneaker.....then this will work well. I need it for pronation and it has worked for 4 years (1st time on Amazon). I do not run in them but use for lots of other activities. They wear well and come in a variety of size/width combo to help get the right fit. They retail for much higher $. Order was rec'vd promptly as promised

Great shoe!

I haven't owned a pair of ASICS for some time. The ASICS GT 2130 is a great shoe! I just ran on them for the first time, an easy 30 min around the neighborhood...my wife asked me, 'How were they?' - I told her, 'They are like the Volkswagen Passat, 90% of the performance of an Audi A4 or BMW 3 series, but at almost 40% less the cost!' - In other words - they are great and they do everything very VERY well. They are stable- but yield just enough, they are responsive - but not out of control, and they are comfortable - but not overly so. Maybe the ASICS Nimbus 9 or Brooks Trance 7 do these things a little bit better, but at 15-20 mi per week tops, and not a marathoner, why pay the extra$$. I should say my current shoe is the Nike Air Volermo, which is nice, but not as responsive on the pavement as the ASICS.

Pros - price, performance, styling (the orange color is killer)
Con - the toe box feels 'wide' or loose when just standing around, but this was not evident when actually running.

Great shoes

Great shoes! I have wide feet and very few shoes fit me. These fit beautifully and are comfortable for running and just general walking. I have used Asic shoes for many years and have always been very happy with them as long as I could find 4E versions. Thank God for online shopping.

Strange fit

I bought this shoe (Asics GT-2130) because i have a slight pronation in my foot and i was hoping this would correct it. however, i've noticed increased strain on my knees since running in them. it also strains my calf muscles in places (towards the front and sides, which i guess are not really the calf?) i've never felt strain from jogging, but i guess that's just muscle development, which is a good thing. also, be warned, the fit is a little larger than most other shoes in the toe area. it's snug everywhere else, but my toes feel like they're just swimming around down there--maybe Asics are made for people with extra wide feet? or maybe you just have to order down a 1/2 size from what you would normally wear. on the positive side, the styling is great.

Most comfortable shoe to ever be on my feet

I had a job where I worked for six hours a day with a 20 minute break and the the rest of the time I was on my feet! I started out wearing a pair of old basketball shoes but I soon found out that was not a smart decision. After only a few days I noticed when I got home that I had achy feet and lower back pain like no other. So I went to my local shoe store and said show me the most comfortable shoe you guys have and they brought me the Asics, nikes, rebooks, and the north face. All of which were of the same design but the Asics hands down are the most comfortable. I feel so much better after a long day of work when I wear these.

Questions & Answers
Question : Do running shoes lose their cushioning/stability even if you don't run in them?
I've heard that running shoes lose this cushioning even if they are not used. For example, lets say that i bought two pairs of shoes. I used one while the other remained in the closet brand new in box. Would the latter, that has been sitting in the closet without use for about two months still have the same cushion/stability as it did when i first bought it? I would think so, but i have heard that this is not the case. Any ideas? Preferably from experts in the running, shoe, and/or podiatry field. Thanks!

Answer:
I would think so. I mean, all shoes get worn down and worn out eventually. Right?

Question : Best running shoes for cushion support? What to get?
It's a choice between Asics Gel Nimbus or Adidas Supernova Cushion 7s..... whats the best out of these two only? Thanks!

Answer:
Honestly, I wouldn't listen to people's recommendations on here. Their footstrike is probably different than yours. Their foot shape could even be different. All of these things could effect what is good for you vs good for them. I would go to a running store and have them fit you with shoes. Try both on. And also, be open to possibly getting a different pair of shoes if neither one works out.

Question : what is the best running shoes that has extreme CUSHIONING?
i going back to running,i just need the best shoes for me. my knees hurts before and now my heel too. i gained weight,i need to cut weight on my upper body,so my lower body wont have too much pressure i really need extreme cushioning.please help thank you

Answer:
I know how you feel. The most important aspect to me about a running shoe is the cushioning. I have always ran in assics and thought theses were the best, but I have not been impressed with how they have feeling lately. I just bought suconey triumph 4 and love them. They have the most cushion in a running shoe I have ever had. They have EXTREME CUSHIONING! Good luck

Question : What kind of running shoes should i wear if i have bad knees?
my knees are a little sensitive and i wanna see if there are shoes that are reasonably priced and can help cushion the pressure when i run.

Answer:
running is high impact sport so knee problems are common if you run alot. you could try sofsole, it's a gel insert for your shoes but some people say they are too mushy, but in this case it might be good for you. Some shoes have built in gel cushions, they help, but usually they are harder then the gel inserts. A tight fitting shoe might also help a lot.

Question : What are some running shoes for heavy runners?
I am a heavy runner who supinates and has an extremely high arch. Can anyone suggest a good cushioned running shoe?

Answer:
I'm not sure if you have them in your area, but a store called Front Runner (or another one called Fleet Feet) will set you up with the best pair of shoes for your running style. They will watch you run for a little while and then give you a couple different options. Mizuno has several pairs with support. Go to Mizuno.com and search on men's footwear - click on Support. Those will be what you are looking for. The Inspire is a good looking shoe and is lightweight. Don't listen to people saying "quit running". It's great that you are being active. Running is the all time best calorie burning workout you can do. DEFINITELY get fitted or your knees will hurt. Ron

Question : Impact protection vs. cushioning in running shoes?
Some shoes claim to have "superior cushioning", others "advanced impact protection." Difference?

Answer:
Marketing! Too bad there are no accepted measures for impact reduction to allow such claims to be quantified.

Question : How Do I Wash My Running Shoes?
I have a pair of running shoes (not with spikes) and are white with 80% mesh. Is their any way i could wash them without damaging the cushion fibers advertised by the shoe. Will washing them in warm water no soap clean them ???

Answer:
If you don't want to damage the cushioning, I suggest that you wash only the exterior of the shoe by hand, using a liquid soap. Wipe the soap off with a wet cloth, and then dry them. I would try to not get the cushioning wet, and I would definitely not toss them in a washing machine.

Question : Doe a person's body weight effect the lifespan of their running shoes?
They say that a pair of running shoes should last about 4 to 5 months while running 10 to15 miles a week. Do these figures apply to everyone? I mean, my running partner weighs about 110 lbs and is 5'2" while I weigh about 165 lbs and am 5'8". How could it possible be true that our shoes are good for the same amount of time? The cushioning in my shoes should wear out faster, right?

Answer:
You would think that all things would be equal, but I can tell you from experiance that weight will play a small role in running shoe wear. A typical running shoe will last 400 - 600 miles, But I am 6'3" and weight in at 205lbs, typicall running shoes last 10 - 12weeks, or about 400Km which is only 240 miles. Ascis in my opinion last longer then any other brand, with adidas a close second. Suconey seems to wear very quickly and I have heard from others the same complaint. Harry

Question : Why is too much cushion in a running shoe bad?
I read somebody saying that Nike Shox sucked because they have too much cushion... but how is that bad in a running shoe.. wouldn't you want a lot of "shock" to absorm the impact? I know I would.. I currently have shinsplints in my left leg, and achilles tendinitis in my right heel.... I think cushion is a might fine idea.. lol

Answer:
You have to have a shoe that is best for you. Some people need a soft shoe, the problem is if it has too much cushion you do not have as much control. Meaning that your foot moves around, and if you have ankle problems you are more prone to injury. Also if you have a foot plant problem you are not going to have the correct that was designed in the shoe if the cushion is too soft.

Question : Does anyone know of a brand of running shoes (jogging/training shoes) for men that is all black in color?
I know that there are black walking shoes, but they really are NOT as comfortable (not as much cushion) as jogging shoes. I work in an office where everyone wears a shirt and tie and bright colored jogging shoes won't work.

Answer:
Black Nike Shox. Pricey, but well worth it.
