Love my shoes!

Found these in the store but preferred to purchase through Amazon. I have a narrow man's foot and love the fit. There's been no 'break-in' period and these shoes have prevented many aches/pains for a new runner. Would highly recommend!

Order 0.5 size bigger

I run with such shoes (differnt color) for about a year on cross-country trails. The shoes are light and nice but fell apart - they are cheap. I wanted to order another pair but forgot the size previous were. Usually i wear 8.5 or 9.0. There's something wrong with this model. I ordered 9.0 and they don't fit but since they are so cheap I gave them as a present to my friend. Happy end!

this is BAAAAD

No wonder they r sellin it that cheap b/c it is a terrible sneaker.. not good for anything, the sole is very thin, u can even feel the carpet if u wear it at home. besides, the size is screwed up. i usually wear 10, i ordered 10.5 and it was still very tight. i returned.

Great shoe, but no water protection.

When I first opened the box, I thought they sent the wrong size. At first glance these shoes look small. Don't fret, they aren't, its just the way the are designed. They were the right size and fit beautifully.

I absolutely love these shoes. They are comfortable and feel as if you are wearing nothing, but in reality they provide great support all around.

I am a Traceur, or one who practices Parkour, that is what I bought these shoes for. The best pair of shoes I have ever bought for this. The grip is excellent, and the ankle support is great. Super lightweight.

The only negative I give it is that the mesh is just the netting part. If it is wet outside, your socks and feet get wet. Not to great if you are using these for anything that requires fast movement. Simply put, wet socks and shoes plus a lot of movement equals blisters. Be sure to get some water-proof socks if you plan on using these in wet weather.

Customer Review :

great shoe

I just recently got this shoe. I had been running in Nike Pegasus shoes and was constantly getting blisters especially after long runs >8 miles. This is my first pair of Mizunos. WOW! They are so comfortable. I was afraid because they are a little higher and heavier that they might be a little clunky, but they are the smoothest shoe I have ever run in. I can whole heartedly recommend this shoe, or at least trying it out. (everyone's feet are different). The plastic plate shock absorbers, work really well and feel very responsive. I was going to get the Wave Rider 11s but they felt a little too soft, even though they were lighter. I haven't worn them long enough to discuss the durability. All in all I am really happy with this shoe.

Mizuno WR 9 vs. Asics Gel Nimbus 10: Go with Asics

Bought the Mizuno Wave Runner 9 shoe and the Asics Gel Nimbus 10's at the same time. I found the Asics to be the best fit for me....

Pluses:
* Designed for medium to high arches - good comfort in upper shoe area
* Material/ventilation permits good shoe breathability
* Shoe design seemingly propels you forward - very healthy heel cushioning system
* Good looking shoe

Concerns:
* Feels like fore-foot and midfoot is swimming in the shoe - not nearly as snug as Asics fit
* Have read that the shoe fits 1/2 to full size small - don't buy it - get sized
* Shoes on heavy side at 13.9 oz (vs. Asics Gel Nimbus 10 @ 12.4 oz)
* While heel has good cushioning, mid-foot and toe cushioning feels inadequate in comparison

Design changes getting worse

I've been running in the Mizuno Wave Creation for almost ten years now. I have sent Mizuno a lot of money over the years. I've stayed with the model through several improvements/iterations, because for me, once I've found a shoe that works for me, I tend to stick with it until it stops working. Also, honestly, I'd rather avoid all the trouble of finding a new "perfect" home for my feet.

Well, I think the time to re-initiate the search may have come. The latest iteration of the MWC has a looser build about it, with the insole side feeling like it's made of two separate pieces held together only with some flimsy elastic. It's just odd and feels cheap.

In any case, my next pair of running shoes may be another pair of MWCs, but it will only be after I've tried on what's available from the other manufacturers -- something I have not done in a long time.

Question : what are the best shoes for cross country racing?
I am new to cross country so I need a little guidance in what type of shoes to get....

Answer:
it depends on how you run where i live (Houston, TX) there are two shoe stores "finish strong" and "Luke's locker" they will see how you walk and give you shoes good for you

Question : Can cross-country shoes be used for track?
I have a pair of cross-country flats which can have spikes added to them. Are these the kind of racing shoes that could be used for track, or would I need a new pair?

Answer:
If you are running long distance in track, the shoes would probably work. However, if you are looking to participate in sprinting events, you may want to invest in another type of shoe specifically made for sprinting. Usually sprinting shoes have spikes just on the ball of the foot to allow quicker turnover while distance shoes have spikes more all over the shoe to allow the runner to use their entire foot. Hope this helps!

Question : Can normal running shoes be used for cross country running?
I have a pair of women's nike running shoes and am going to join my school's cross country team in the fall. But I'm not sure if I have to get a pare of spikes for cross country of if I can just use my nike running shoes. Help please?

Answer:
If your Nike's are really light weight then they should be good...i would recommend against spikes...even though they are lightweight and flexable, crosscounty courses are sometimes set on concrete. annnd spikes on concrete is a no no.

Question : Would this pair of Cross Country shoes be okay for track?
its a pair of Brooks Men's Mach 9. The time I primarily care about is what I get for the 1600. So would they be fine if i just use shorter spikes?

Answer:
yeah u can use cc spikes in track for distance events like the 1600 and 3200

Question : Whats a good kind of cross country shoes for a meet? Like do I want Spikes,or Flat bottom rubber??
Cross Country course are all different, they are hilly, rough, and soft. It is 3.1 miles and I need a good race shoes, I am a junior in high school.

Answer:
for cross country you're going to want spikes with a rubber spike plate and removable spikes this way, if the course has a lot of cement on it, you can take the spikes out and just race without them in the shoe go to a running shoe store, though, as opposed to a huge sporting goods store, because they'll make sure you're fitted correctly and will recommend a good pair for you

Question : What are good Cross Country race shoes?
I have never done Cross Country before but have done track. So for cross country are spiked shoes good or are non spikes better? Any brands and models you recommend? I personally did not enjoy running with spikes in track because I thought it was harder for some reason, I guess this is just a personal preference. But what would you recommend? Just regular Asics shoes?

You could mabey bring in like a sweatband or find out about a famous cross country runner and write his name really big on a piece of paper or something like tht

Question : Do I need sprinting shoes for cross country?
I know cross country is a long distance, and not really sprinting sorta sport but i was wondering if i should get light weight sprinting shoes for races... So do I need sprinting shoes for cross country? help! thanx! :)

You should get just running shoes to train in, but for races and such, I would say you should buy flats ( flats are light-weight and helps you move faster in races). You can buy flats at Snail's Pace. It shouldn't be too expensive.
