Customer Review :

Incredibly light!!!!!!!!

This shoe is far lighter than I even anticipated. I've tried them out on the treadmill, but not outside yet, and I love them. They're so light they feel like socks, not sneakers. And amazingly comfortable!!!

What a feeling!

I have previously used the Asics ds-racer as my racing shoe, but wanted to try something else. I went with the gel-hyper speed 2, and this proved to be a wise decision.

The build-up of the shoe is like none other I have tried. The heel is almost totally gone, which makes it virtually impossible to land with the heel first, making it easier to run on the forefoot. Forefoot-running is after all our natural way of running, try running barefoot and see.

This shoe is very light, has a good fit, and shows no tendency to blister my heel, in contrast to the ds-racer. Overall, I couldn't be happier. This shoe will be my steady companion in races in the future, no doubt about it.

I had to go up half a size in these, compared to both my Asics Gel Kayano and Asics DS Racer, something to think about.

Question : how should my cross country shoes be chosen by fit?
ok, when i buy new cross country shoes, should there be any space for my toes? or should there be a certain amount of space? please tell me, cus my old cross country shoes have no space for my feet. so please help

Answer:
This site tells you all you need to know about finding the right shoes. It tells you how the shoe should be fitting in all the different places around your foot as well as stating what type of shoes are good for each different type of sports. Strongly suggest using this site...has helped me decided on many types of shoes that have been a great success. Every time i get shoes with the aid of this site, my cross-country coach always comments on a good choice: http://adam.about.com/reports/000061_4.htm Good luck. Hope you find a good pair of shoes!

Question : where can i buy good cross country running shoes at a desent price?
I need running shoes and running shorts, shirts, sweet pants,ect... for high school cross country please help

Answer:
If you have Big 5 store in your area, they have great prices on running shoes, running outfits. Great deals on New Balances, Reeboks..ect. Thats where i would purchace my stuff for track. Nextag.com and eastbay.com have great variety on spike long distance shoes and clothing

Question : what are some cross country shoes?
in high school used to do football switch to cross country what are good running shoes

Answer:
get spikes. not the ones with the really thin bottoms...those are sprinting spikes. the bottoms should be about 5cm thick at the heel.

Question : What type of cross country shoes should I purchase?
The best answer would provide me with two pairs of shoes, 1 pair for racing and 1 pair for training. Spikes or flats? If so, what brand/specific model should I get?

Answer:
spikes usually are alot better for cross than flats so i would get a pair of those for racing, im not going to name a specific type of shoe that you should get because the best shoe is really different for each person like for example if you over pronate you should get a different shoe than your friend that under pronates. for trainers again i wont name a brand our model, for pretty much same reasons. my best advice too you is too go to a running specialty type of store (not a footlocker or champs) because running stores usually have people working there that are runners and can know what type of shoes would be best for you

Question : what props can I use to represent cross country besides shoes?
I'm giving a presentation on something I know a lot about in class. I've chosen to do mine on cross country. Because I know what techniques you need, and what foods to eat and etc... But we have to have two props. All I can think of to use is my shoes, what else can I possibly use?

Answer:
You could mabey bring in like a sweatband or find out about a famous cross country runner and write his name really big on a piece of paper or something like tht

Question : where do you buy your cross-country shoes from
do you buy your cross-country shoes from a store or on the internet

Answer:
do you buy your cross-country shoes from a store or on the internet

Question : What are good Cross Country race shoes?
I have never done Cross Country before but have done track. So for cross country are spiked shoes good or are non spikes better? Any brands and models you recommend? I personally did not enjoy running with spikes in track because I thought it was harder for some reason, I guess this is just a personal preference. But what would you recommend? Just regular Asics shoes?

Answer:
I'd suggest spikes. Over 5k, you may have hills, dirt, mud, woodchips, or even sand. All of this terrain means that a secure grip so you don't slip and your feet don't slide is very important. Spikes are therefore important. I'm a fan of saucony, notably the Saucony Kilkenny spike, but not everyone likes those. I'd go to a running store and have them fit you, and to try different shoes out. Good luck this season! ~Abab

Question : Do I need sprinting shoes for cross country?
I know cross country is a long distance, and not really sprinting sorta sport but i was wondering if i should get light weight sprinting shoes for races... So do I need sprinting shoes for cross country? help! thanx! :)

Answer:
You should get just running shoes to train in, but for races and such, I would say you should buy flats ( flats are light-weight and helps you move faster in races). You can buy flats at Snail's Pace. It shouldn't be too expensive.

Question : Whats a good kind of cross country shoes for a meet? Like do I want Spikes,or Flat bottom rubber??
Cross Country course are all different, they are hilly, rough, and soft. It is 3.1 miles and I need a good race shoes, I am a junior in high school.

Answer:
for cross country you're going to want spikes with a rubber spike plate and removable spikes this way, if the course has a lot of cement on it, you can take the spikes out and just race without them in the shoe go to a running shoe store, though, as opposed to a huge sporting goods store, because they'll make sure you're fitted correctly and will recommend a good pair for you
